This Chocolate Espresso Avocado Mousse is smooth, velvety, rich, delicious and packed with nutrients that will keep you nourished and energized! It’s completely dairy-free but it is as creamy and smooth as any conventional chocolate mousse.

It’s no secret that chocolate avocado mousse is one of my all time favourite desserts, but did you know that it also makes an amazing and satisfying breakfast!? Yes you can have chocolate for breakfast and feel good knowing that you’re actually doing something good for your body!
This mousse has 5 simple, whole, healthy ingredients: avocado, cacao powder, maple syrup, espresso and sea salt. Now I’m not much of a coffee drinker but chocolate combined with coffee makes one of the most delicious combos, wouldn’t you agree?! And if you’re like me, someone who doesn’t always wake up with a pep to your step, the natural caffeine from the cacao powder with the addition of espresso will definitely give you the boost you need in the morning. If I know that I have a busy and demanding day ahead of me this is my go-to breakfast!
This mousse is your coffee and breakfast all-in-one and it only takes 15 minutes from start to finish! Just put all of the ingredients into a food processor and whirl until it’s smooth and creamy. Easy!

A great addition to this mousse is homemade granola like my Ultimate Granola and sliced fresh fruit on top and voila! A super simple and healthy breakfast to start your day off right!
If you want to slip some of the fruit down the side of the glass like I did for this recipe, banana’s work quite well because they naturally stick to the sides of the glass. Kiwi’s also work well but feel free to try what fruit you fancy, or have none at all and enjoy the mousse as is!
